02. Edwin C. Barnes was CONSTANTLY INTENSIFYING HIS DESIRE
(FOR 5 YEARS!) before it became a reality. (BE PATIENT BROTHER!)
03. Accept a definite purpose, & stand by it until
it becomes an ALL-CONSUMING POSSESSION!
04. Often success comes disguised in the form of MISFORTUNE,
or TEMPORARY DEFEAT. This is why so many people fail to recognize opportunity.
05. Barnes had nothing to start with (like you), But he KNEW WHAT
HE WANTED, & had the DETERMINATION TO STAND BY THAT DESIRE UNTIL HE REALIZED IT.
06. BARNES HAD NO MONEY & little education, NO INFLUENCE,
But he did have INITIATIVE, FAITH, & The DESIRE to win.
07. Most common causes of FAILURE is the HABIT OF QUITTING
when being overtaken by TEMPORARY DEFEAT.
08. Before success comes to any man, he is sure to meet with a lot
oftemporary defeat, & some failures. When DEFEAT overtakes a man,
the easiest thing to do is QUIT which is what the MAJORITY of PEOPLE DO.
09. FAILURE IS A TRICKSTER. It takes great delight in tripping up someone when success is almost within reach.
10. RICHES BEGIN WITH A STATE OF MIND,
With definiteness of purpose, WITH LITTLE OR NO HARD WORK.
11. THOUGHT HABITS have been steeped in POVERTY,
WANT, MISERY, FAILURE, & DEFEAT.
12. These unfortunate people have created it all with their minds.

14. Maintain a spirit of OPEN-MINDEDNESS.

With NO INFLUENTIAL FRIENDS, Rose to great heights. I made up my mind then,I would make a place for myself, NO MATTER HOW MANY DIFFICULTIES I HAD TO SURMOUNT.
