CHAPTER 8: Decision
266. 25000 who people expierenced FAILURE disclosed the fact that
LACK OF DECISION was near the head of the list of the
THIRTY MAJOR CAUSES OF FAILURE. It is a fact.
267. PROCRASTINATION is a common ENEMY every man must conquer.
268. Reach QUICK & DEFINITE DECISIONS when you begin putting plans into action.
269. Create a habit of reaching decisions promptly, & of changing decisions slowly.
270. People who fail have the HABIT of reaching decisions very slowly.
271. Henry Ford's reached decisions quickly while changing them slowly.
272. Mr. Ford's firmness of decision yielded a huge fortune.
273. The majority of people who fail are, generally,
EASILY INFLUENCED BY THE "OPINIONS" OF OTHERS.
274. "Opinions" are the cheapest commodities on earth.
275. If you are influenced by "OPINIONS" when you reach decisions,
you will not succeed in any undertaking. (LISTEN ONLY TO YOURSELF!!)
276. Keep your own counsel, when you begin to put into practice
the principles described here.
277. Take no one into your confidence, except the members
of your "Master Mind" group, & be very sure in your selection of this group,
that you choose only those who will be in complete sympathy
& harmony with your purpose.
278. Close friends & relatives, often handicap one through "opinions."
279. Thousands of men & women carry INFERIORITY COMPLEXES
because some IGNORANT PERSON DESTROYED THEIR CONFIDENCE
through "OPINIONS" or RIDICULE.
280. You have a brain & mind of your own. Use it, & REACH YOUR OWN DECISIONS.
281. If you need facts from other people, acquire the facts or secure the information
you need quietly, WITHOUT DISCLOSING YOUR PURPOSE.
(BE VERY SECRETIVE IN TELLING OTHER PEOPLE YOUR GOALS!!)
282. Keep your eyes & your ears wide open - & your mouth closed.
If you talk more than you listen, you not only deprive yourself
of many opportunities to accumulate useful knowledge.
(ALWAYS LISTEN MORE THAN YOU SPEAK)
283. Genuine WISDOM is usually conspicuous through MODESTY & SILENCE.
284. "Tell the world what you intend to do, but first show it."

were reached by assuming great risks, which often meant the possibility of death.

CHAPTER 8: Decision
287. Proclamation of Emancipation, gave freedom to the colored people of America.
In the end, it cost Abraham Lincoln his life.
288. A decision in the minds of two men,
might properly be called the beginning of freedom.
289. The decision called for FAITH, & COURAGE, because it was dangerous.
290. Important changes usually begin in the form of a definite decision
in the minds of a relatively small number of people
291. John Hancock, Samuel Adams, & Richard Henry Lee
were the real fathers of America.
292. "If two of you agree upon the earth concerning anything for which you ask,
it will come to you from My Father, who is in Heaven." -Jesus
293. September 5, 1774: First Continental Congress held in Philadelphia.
294. By decisions made in a similar spirit of FATH, & only by such decisions,
can MEN SOLVE THEIR PERSONAL PROBLEMS, & WIN FOR THEMSELVES
HIGH ESTATES OF MATERIAL & SPIRITUAL WEALTH.
295. Anyone can succeed by applying desire, decision, faith,
persistence, the Master Mind, & organized planning.
296. THOUGHT, backed by STRONG DESIRE,
has a tendency to transmute itself into its physical equivalent.
297. These laws are available to every person who has the FAITH
& COURAGE to use them. They may be used to ACCUMULATE RICHES.
298. Those who reach decisions promptly & definitely
KNOW WHAT THEY WANT, & GENERALLY GET IT.
299. INDECISION begins in youth.
300. The major weakness of all educational systems is that
they neither teach nor encourage the habit of definite decision.
301. Ninety-eight out of every 100 people working for wages today are in the positions they hold, because they lacked the definiteness of decision to plan a definite position.
302. Definiteness of decision requires courage.
303. The person who reaches a definite decision to procure the particular job,
& MAKE LIFE PAY THE PRICE HE ASKS, (every thought is what you're asking from life)does not stake his life on that decision; he stakes his economic freedom.
304. These instructions will be of no value to you unless you
definitely decide to organize them into a plan of action.
