CHAPTER 9: Persistence


305. Persistence is an essential factor in transmuting desire into its monetary equivalent. The basis of persistence is the power of will. (Will Power)
306. Will-power & desire, make an irresistable pair.
307. A few people carry on despite all opposition, until they attain their goal.
These few are the Fords, Carnegies, Rockefellers, & Edisons.
308. The entire 13 factors must be applied with persistence
by all who accumulate money.
309. LACK OF PERSISTENCE is one of the major causes of FAILURE.
310. The ease with which lack of persistence may be conquered
will depend entirely upon the intensity of one's desire.
311. The starting point of all acheivement is DESIRE.
312. WEAK DESIRES BRING WEAK RESULTS.
313. Read through to the end, then go back to Chapter 2,
& start immediately to carry out the instructions.
314. The eagerness will indicate how much you really desire to accumulate money.
315. Fortunes gravitate to men whose minds have been prepared to "ATTRACT" them.
(LAW OF ATTRACTION: Affirmations (Auto-Suggestion), EFT, Visualizations,
FEELING EMOTIONS, Healing Frequencies while Awake & during sleep)
316. "ATTUNE" your mind to the VIBRATIONS WILL ATTRACT
THE OBJECT OF ONE'S DESIRE. (LAW OF VIBRATION)
317. Surround yourself with a "Master Mind" group,
& through cooperative efforts, you can DEVELOP PERSISTENCE.
318. Your subconscious mind works continuously,
while you are awake, & while you are asleep.
319. Spasmodic, or occasional effort to apply the rules will be of no value to you.
320. You must create a fixed daily habit of progamming your mind for what you desire.
321. In no other way can you develop the necessary "MONEY CONSCIOUSNESS."
322. POVERTY is attracted the people whose mind is favorable to it.
323. POVERTY CONSCIOUSNESS will voluntarily seize the mind
which is not occupied with the money consciousness.
324. WITHOUT PERSISTENCE, YOU WILL BE DEFEATED.
WITH PERSISTENCE, YOU WILL WIN!!!
325. You may find it necessary to "snap" out of your mental inertia,
moving slowly at first, then increasing your speed, until you gain complete control
over your will. BE PERSISTENT NO MATTER HOW SLOW YOU MAY "MOVE."

327. In the beginning, the going may seem difficult & slow.
(Time feeling slow is the sign of a low vibration. In time, it will definitely speed up
which is a sign of a higher vibration & a higher vibration attracts a better reality.)
328. Sometimes it appears that there is A HIDDEN GUIDE whose duty
is to TEST MEN THROUGH ALL SORTS OF DISCOURAGING EXPIERENCES.
(Source will use challenges to help us control our emotions & decide how we want to feel. To actively choose the way we want to feel regardless of outer circumstances)
329. The hidden Guide (SOURCE) lets no one enjoy great achievement
without passing the PERSISTENCE TEST.
330. Bountifully rewarded for their persistence.
They receive, as their compensation, whatever goal they are pursuing.
331. "Every failure brings with it the seed of an equivalent advantage."
332. We who stand on the side-lines of Life see
the overwhelmingly large number of people who go down in defeat.
333. We see the few who take the punishment of defeat as an urge to greater effort.
334. If one does not possess PERSISTENCE,
one does not achieve noteworthy success in any calling.

to the tune of the publisher's "NO", because SHE WAS DETERMINED TO WIN.

340. PERSISTENCE is capable of achieving great riches.

343. Most people LACK COURAGE to keep on keeping on.
344. PERSISTENCE is a state of mind, therefore it can be cultivated.

348. These are the WEAKNESSES THAT MUST BE
MASTERED BY ALL WHO ACCUMULATE RICHES.
A. Failure to define what one wants
B. PROCRASTINATION backed up with EXCUSES
C. Lack of interest in acquiring SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE
D. Indecision
E. The habit of relying upon alibis instead of creating DEFINITE PLANS
F. Self-Satisfaction
G. Indifference, usually reflected in one's readiness to compromise
H. The habit of BLAMING OTHERS
I. WEAKNESS OF DESIRE
J. WILLINGNESS TO QUIT AT THE FIRST SIGN OF DEFEAT
K. Lack of Organized Plans
L. The habit of neglecting to move on ideas
M. Wishing instead of willing
N. The habit of COMPROMISING WITH POVERTY instead of aiming at riches
General ABSENCE OF AMBITION to BE (presence), to DO (action), & to own
O. Searching for short-cuts to riches, trying to get without giving
P. Fear of criticism, FAILURE TO CREATE PLANS & PUT THEM INTO ACTION
because of what other people will think, do, or say. This enemy belongs at
the head of the list, because it generally exists in one's subconscious mind.

349. The majority of people permit relatives, friends, & the public at large to so influence them that they cannot live their own lives, because they fear criticism.
350. Huge numbers of people make mistakes in marriage
& go through life miserable & unhappy, because they fear criticism.
351. People REFUSE TO TAKE CHANCES IN BUSINESS,
because they fear the criticism which may follow if they fail.
The fear of criticism in such cases in stronger than the desire for success.
352. Too many PEOPLE REFUSE TO SET HIGH GOALS FOR THEMSELVES,
or even neglect selecting a career, because they fear the criticism of relatives
& "friends" who may say "Don't aim so high, people will think you are crazy."
353. Most ideas are stillborn, & need the breath of life injected into them
through definite plans of IMMEDIATE ACTION.
354. The fear of criticism is at the bottom of destruction of most ideas
which never reach the planning & action stage.
355. FAVORABLE "BREAKS" can be made to order.

356. W.C. Fields was so eager to stage a comeback in his life that he offered
to work without pay. Fields was PERSISTENT. He knew that if he carried on
he would the "breaks" sooner or later, & he did them, but not by chance.
357. Eddie Cantor lost his money in the 1929 stock market crash,
but he still had his PERSISTENCE & COURAGE.
358. He persisted & ended up making $10,000 per week back in 1929.
359. If one has PERSISTENCE, one can get along very well
without many other qualities.
360. Riches do not respond to wishes.
They respond only to DEFINITE PLANS, through CONSTANT PERSISTENCE.

361. There are 4 Steps which lead to the habit of PERSISTENCE
A. A DEFINITE PURPOSE backed by BURNING DESIRE, for its fulfillment
B. A DEFINITE PLAN, expressed in CONTINUOUS ACTION
C. A MIND CLOSED TIGHTLY AGAINST ALL NEGATIVES
& DISCOURAGING INFLUENCES, negative relatives, friends, & acquaintances
D. A FRIENDLY ALLIANCE with one or more presons who will encourage you

362. These four steps are essential for success.
363. These are the steps by which one may control one's economic destiny.
These steps lead to freedom. They lead the way to power, fame, & worldly recognition.
364. They are the steps that convert dreams into physical realities.
365. Making life yield whatever price is asked.
366. Mrs. Wallis Simpson's rise from obscurity was of the slow,
progressive, persistent order, but it was sure!

371. One is drawn to the inevitable conclusion that PERSISTENCE,
CONCENTRATION OF EFFORT, & definiteness of purpose,
were the major sources of their achievements.

372. Potency of PERSISTENCE, read the biography on Mohammed,
titled Essad Bey.
373. Mohammed never performed a miracle. He was not a mystic,
he had no formal schooling; he did not begin his mission until he was 40.
374. He claimed to be a Messenger of God, bringing word of the TRUE RELIGION,
he was ridiculed & labeled a lunatic. He had been preaching 10 years & had nothing
to show for it but banishment, POVERTY, & ridicule.
375. The Koran says that all men were equal before god.
376. Mohammed retreated to the desert.
Out of the desert came a flame which would not be extinguished.
377. Mohammed was not building a new religion.
He was calling all who believed in one God to join a single faith.
